March 31 -- Cherry Blossom Festival!!

Sorry for no post yesterday. Traveling back from Memphis made it very difficult. However, Evan and Mommy had their first day in DC together in quite a while, and as it was a beautiful day, we just had to hit the Cherry Blossom Festival! Evan was terrific ... he was very alert and interested, and definitely charmed the pants off of all of the passers-by.

There is just nothing like DC in the springtime.

Tomorrow Evan and Mommy are off to Baltimore to meet all of his friends at the Baltimore City Orphans Court and Register of Wills (where I had a judicial clerkship for those not in the know). We are really looking forward to the trip!! Pics coming soon!!

March 29 -- Evan's First Wedding

Today Mommy's dear friend Mindy Cooper Lasky tied the knot, and while we didn't bring Evan to the ceremony, he did make a brief cameo at the reception. The bride was so excited to see Evan that she sprinted out of the reception hall just after her new husband's toast!! Needless to say that caused a bit of a stir, but Evan was so sweet for his adoring public and the gorgeous bride was more than willing to share the spotlight (and new husband Jordan was very understanding ;)

March 28 -- I've Had It!

Well Evan got to Defcon 1 tonight after enduring all the controlled chaos that is a visit by the Cox family. We are a very loving and very LOUD family. After not being able to nap during the day, Evan had just had it, and let the whole family (and perhaps the entire neighborhood) know during my mother's dinner party that night. Poor baby had not slept all day and was still a bear to put down even after all the drama.

March 23 -- Fun in Memphis

Mommy and Evan are getting really spoiled! Mom is getting all this help toting Evan around and keeping him entertained, and as for Evan, Nana and Pops have made sure he has so many fun things to do and toys to play with. He is going to be bored to death when he gets home. He's been Mr. Smiley since he's been down here, just charming the pants off his adoring family. He's also started cooing fairly regularly, and had a 15 minute "conversation" with Mom today. He had a terrific day, playing with all of his new toys and being such an angel while Mom and Nana ran him all over town on errands. He is really such a good boy!

March 20 -- Evan's First Flight and Meeting Family

In keeping with his candidacy for Baby of the Year, Evan was a total angel on the plane. Slept in a sling on Mommy's chest the whole time. It was awesome. Since it was his very first flight, Northwest presented him with a certificate signed by the captain himself, proclaiming him Junior Captain. It's hysterical. Definitely one for the baby book.
